For years many different people and organizations have attempted to collect enough money and secure the proper approval to add attractive city gateway signs on the four major roads entering the City of Galesburg. All have been unable to accomplish this task until now. At the Aug. 27th DDA meeting the board unatamously approved the first of many signs to be built and installed on 35th street as you enter the City of Galesburg. It will be 10ft wide and 7ft tall in total. Landscaping and lighting is expected to follow. This attractive sign was paid for by the DDA and private donations in the amount of approx. $5,300.00. This addition to the city is sure to make people take note that the DDA is not going to talk about doing things, it will take action!
